First Registrations

Register your land - know where you stand

Although it is now compulsory to register land when it is sold, transferred or mortgaged this hasn’t always been the case.

Many properties in England and Wales are still unregistered particularly in this area, but more and more people are choosing to register their property.

Making a voluntary application brings many advantages and peace of mind:

  • Registering your land proves you own it.
  • It protects you against claims if someone were to try to encroach on it.

And

  • It is an effective way to bring together all the documents and help prevent fraud.

The Land Registry are offering a 25% discount on their fees for voluntary first registration.

There has never been a better time to do it.
